OUR HISTORY
The Grand Rapids Curling Club has roots dating back to October 1897. Sadly, by late 1923 the sport's popularity and thus the city's club slowly disintegrated. For those 25 years, Grand Rapids was home to a very successful club and saw the construction of its own facility at the intersection of what is now Norwood and Wealthy Streets in 1903 with eight sheets. The history of the club can be found in an article published in 2017 entitled "Romancing the Stone: A Brief History of Curling in Grand Rapids" by GF Korreck.
In early 2020 a new group of people banded together to reincorporate the Grand Rapids Curling Club to bring the sport back to our city. In June 2020, we officially became a club again. We couldn't be more excited to get on the ice and start opening our doors to the community of Grand Rapids. Please stay tuned for more updates soon!
